It is through justification that we are declared righteous by God. So today we look to answer three big questions:
This week we continue to get back to the basics by talking about regeneration as it pertains to salvation. We talk bout what regeneration is and how it is important. We see that Jesus talked about it (John 3:3 & John 3:7) and that it is mentioned in the Old Testament (Ezekiel 36:26-27) as well as the New (Ephesians 2:1-5). The topic is brought to a close with a personal question: Have you been born from above?
Continuing on the subject of getting back to the basics and salvation, we discuss repentance. A quick look at the scriptures we can see that a message of repentance was delivered by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:1-2), Jesus (Matthew 4:17), and Peter (Acts 3:19). But what does repentance really mean? What are the results of repentance? The final — yet the most important — question is: Have you repented?
Salvation is the central message of the Bible. But, what is salvation and what do we need to be saved from?
This is the beginning of a new series of messages that gets back to the basic message of the Bible.
Missions Sunday is the one Sunday each month where we remember that the world in which we live is much bigger than what we encounter in our daily lives and that Jesus has called us to be a part of what He is doing throughout the world.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””
Acts of the Apostles 1:8 (NLT)
